Supervision

Art Therapy Supervision for ATR-Ps
I provide supervision to provisional art therapists (ATR-P) who are pursuing full registration (ATR)
I am a Board-Certified Registered Art Therapist (ATR-BC)
The ATR-BC is the highest-level art therapy competency. Registered Art therapists (ATR) with board certification carry distinction because they’ve passed the national certification examination, (ATBCE). This demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of art therapy theories, assessments, & skills used in practice. They have also provided hours of clinical art therapy and have received many hours of supervision before becoming ATRs. All board-certified art therapists (ATR-BC) are required to re-certify every five years through the completion of education credits.
My ATCB credential number is: 22-455

My areas of specialty:
Art materials
As a lifelong studio artist and teacher of art for 20+ years, I have unique knowledge in the entire range of art materials and media. Some less common art therapy media include: cyanotypes, resin, linoleum cut block prints, casting, video art, iPad/Procreate, fabric dyeing, paper marbling, air dry & plasticine clay, needlework, gold-leafing, pastels, projection tracing for portraits, and wire work.
Adlerian Art Therapy
I’m part of a short lineage of Adlerian Art Therapists. The pioneer, Sadie Tee Dreikurs, created a protocol in her book Cows Can Be Purple. I was trained in these interventions at Adler University, Vancouver, BC Canada. My master’s research was on Online Adlerian Art Therapy Groups for individuals with Chronic Illness. I have presented on Adlerian Psychology at the North American Society of Adlerian Psychology (NASAP) and hold a Certificate of Study and Adlerian Psychotherapy certificate from there as well.
Issues & Peoples
I have experience treating a variety of issues including OCD, PTSD, grief, perimenopause, religious harm, gender dysphoria, chronic illness and pain, disability, addiction, neurodivergence, and graduate students.
I’ve worked with diverse people including transgender kids and adults, men, couples, families, and communities. I’ve also held Museum Art Therapy presentations.
Private Practice
I coach people on how to go into private practice as an art therapist. I have only worked in private and group practices; I know it’s possible to sustain. I’ve learned a lot along the way and I received a lot of supervision that was geared toward being successful and ethical in this arena. I’m excited to encourage people to create a life that is financially sustainable and enjoyable.
